The Riverfront in India serves both as a public space and an integral aspect of a religious complex. Its inception was sparked by the observation of puja rituals along the nearby banks of a prominent perineal river.
The riverfront is structured into three distinct sections: a public area, a semi-private riverbank for temple visitors, and a private riverfront designated for those residing in the Dharamshala campus. The riverside is characterized by various levels, creating a promenade that showcases a noticeable contrast between the lower and upper levels. Additionally, there is an amphitheater-like space at one end of the riverfront. The design incorporates a spatial hierarchy, diverse vertical circulation options based on specific requirements, and a double-height Promenade within the temple precinct.
